Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how MITRAS — Global Digital Organization ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on mitras.org. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. We comply with the EU ePrivacy Directive as implemented in national laws, GDPR, and KVKK requirements regarding electronic communications data.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function, remember preferences, analyze usage, and support security. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Strictly Necessary: Enable core functionality such as page navigation, security, and cookie consent storage;
- Functional: Remember preferences and enhance user experience;
- Analytics: Understand how visitors interact with our website (only with consent);
- Marketing: Measure campaign effectiveness (only with consent, if applicable).
3. Cookie Consent
When you first visit mitras.org, a cookie banner allows you to:
- Accept All: Consent to all cookie categories including analytics;
- Essential Only: Reject non-essential cookies; only strictly necessary cookies are placed.
Your choice is stored in localStorage under the key mitras-cookie-consent with values all or essential. You may change your preference at any time by clearing site data in your browser or contacting privacy@mitras.org.
Under GDPR and ePrivacy rules, non-essential cookies are not placed until you provide consent via "Accept All." Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent.

5. Cookie Categories Explained
5.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function. They enable security, network management, accessibility, and consent storage. Without them, services you request cannot be provided. They cannot be disabled via our consent tool.
5.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies remember choices you make (such as language or region) to provide enhanced features. Currently, MITRAS primarily uses localStorage for functional preferences. If additional functional cookies are introduced, they will require consent unless strictly necessary.
5.3 Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand visitor behavior — pages viewed, time on site, referral sources — in aggregated form. We use this data to improve website performance and content. Analytics cookies are only activated with your explicit consent.
5.4 Marketing Cookies
Marketing cookies track visitors across websites to display relevant advertisements. MITRAS does not currently use third-party advertising cookies. If introduced in the future, they will require explicit consent and be listed in the inventory above.
6. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by third-party services integrated into our website:
- Cloudflare: Security and performance (privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy);
- Google Analytics: Website analytics with consent (privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy);
- Stripe: Payment security during checkout (privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy);
- CDN Providers: Tailwind CSS and Font Awesome loaded from CDNs may set technical cookies for delivery optimization.
We do not control third-party cookies. Please review their privacy policies for additional information.
7. Managing Cookies
7.1 Via Our Consent Banner
Use the cookie banner on your first visit to accept or reject non-essential cookies. To reset your choice, clear browser data for mitras.org or delete the mitras-cookie-consent localStorage entry.
7.2 Via Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Instructions for common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data;
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data;
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data;
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.
Blocking all cookies may impair website functionality, including checkout and consent storage.
7.3 Google Analytics Opt-Out
You can opt out of Google Analytics by rejecting non-essential cookies on our banner, or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
8. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. There is no universal standard for DNT. We currently honor explicit cookie consent choices via our banner rather than DNT signals alone.
9. KVKK and GDPR Considerations
Cookie data that identifies or can be linked to an individual constitutes personal data under GDPR and KVKK. We process such data based on:
- Your consent for non-essential cookies;
- Legitimate interests or legal necessity for strictly necessary and security cookies;
- Contract performance for payment-related security cookies during checkout.
You may exercise data subject rights described in our Privacy Policy by contacting privacy@mitras.org.
10. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change our use of cookies or when required by law. The "Last Updated" date reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated via website notice.
